• My name is Thea Bisgaard, and I am a second year student at NMBU in the International Relations master program. I have always had an interest in security, governance and post-conflict development, which the ICT4COP center’s work align very closely with. Community policing was something that I knew very little about before taking on the internship, but you learn something new every day here, and no day is the same.

  • Hi, I'm Danique Wijnia, 26 years old and originally from the Netherlands. I am currently in the master's program Global Development Studies and my background is a bachelor's in Religious Studies and a master's in Indigenous Studies. As you can see from my background, I am interested in a large variety of topics, mainly power relations, human rights, land issues, and conflict. I wanted to do an internship at ICT4COP because I wanted to learn more about policing and security in general and specifically community-oriented policing. I believe mutual dialogue, respect, and collaboration with communities are essential, not just for policing. ICT4COP would allow me to explore a different dimension to this by focusing on the policing and security sector.

  • Hi, my name is Kine, and I am a second-year master’s student in International Relations at NMBU. I have a multidisciplinary background in communications, global development studies, and peace and conflict studies. I am passionate about issues related to peace, security, and conflict, which I am excited to explore further through my current internship. This opportunity allows me to deepen my understanding of Community Policing while also enhancing my skills in communications. I look forward to broadening my knowledge and expanding my professional network through this experience.

  • I am a 24-year-old master’s student in International Relations at NMBU, holding a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN). My academic background has fostered a particular interest in human security and security politics. My decision to pursue an internship at ICT4COP stems from this interest and my desire to gain deeper insight into policing in post-conflict states. I am also especially interested in technology and artificial intelligence, and in exploring how these tools can be used to strengthen trust between police agencies and local communities.
