Teaching and Learning
Our teaching and learning activities extend beyond the classroom, fostering international collaboration and practice-oriented training. In May 2022, we were invited by the Turkish National Police Academy (TNPA) to explore the relevance of ICT4COP’s research for strengthening community policing in Turkey—a country managing the complex challenge of policing in the context of over 3.1 million refugees, where language and cultural differences present significant barriers. This engagement led to a Training of Trainers course with TNPA in October 2022. Building on the success of these early initiatives, an Erasmus+ agreement was established, enabling academic exchange and mutual learning. Since then, numerous researchers have visited TNPA throughout 2023–2024, and in April 2023 we welcomed the first TNPA delegation to Norway, including senior staff and 11 PhD candidates—most of them women. What began as a single workshop has grown into a strong and inspiring partnership rooted in a shared commitment to inclusive, community-based approaches to policing.
