About Us
At ICT4COP Center we perform and communicate cutting-edge research and teaching on community-based policing (COP) and post-conflict reform. We develop and apply novel approaches to address current and emerging challenges in policing, security provision, and police reform. We create a dynamic arena for researchers in social science and technology, international and national police, and civil society actors to share experiences and ideas on COP and police reform. Through the Police Experts Network, we maintain a global community of researchers and practitioners dedicated to advancing this work.
Our Beginnings
A European Commission Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation project exploring community-oriented policing and police reform in post-conflict settings was the beginning of the ICT4COP Center. The ICT4COP project, which began in 2015 and concluded in 2020, laid the foundation for the establishment of this Center. The Center was founded to be a connection between the advisory group and to further work on Community-Oriented Policing.
