Mr. Babar Bashir received his Master degree in Sociology from the University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He has served in different Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) at varied positions during 22 years of his professional career. Currently he is working as Managing Director at Rozan, a women and child rights, Islamabad based national NGO. His core areas of interest are, gender equality, policing, human rights and masculinities. Institutionalization of curriculum on issues of gender, human rights and violence against women and children into regular police training in Pakistan is a milestone achievement of his professional career.
He has contributed to research studies on Post Conflict Policing in Swat, Police Trainings in Pakistan, Mapping of CSO working with Police in Pakistan, Understanding masculinities and gender violence. He has been actively involved in the adaptation of Gender Equitable Men (GEM) Scale and conduction of International Men and Gender Equality Survey (IMAGES) in Pakistan. He is a volunteer member of Police Expert Network (PEN) formed under ICT4COP project. He is a certified trainer from Training for Change (TFC) Philadelphia, United States of America. He is a Senior Fellow of Synergos, an international network of Civil Society leaders. Mr. Bashir has presented his work on gender violence and policing issues, during different conference held in Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, USA and Canada.
